Testing and Optimization
We've tested dozens of pages and sites with the goal of
improving conversion. We've read case studies on dozens more.
Our testing methodology includes the
sequential change and measure method, simple A/B/C split testing
(two to four different pages side by side) or large scale
multi-variant testing with our partner Optimost (thousands of
combinations of variables). Depending on your goals, budget and
timetable - we can craft a test plan that achieves your
objectives.
Some elements to think about when testing website pages include:
- What is the purpose of the page? Browsing, sign-up,
sale, search?
- What is the #1 behavior you want this page to illicit
from the visitor?
- How much traffic is going to the area that is being
tested? How long will it take to get significant results?
- What is the source of traffic? Media campaign? Organic
traffic? New/repeat visitors?
- Should we test layout or values within areas of a page?
- Should we test offer, headline, navigation,
testimonials, features, positioning or all of the above?
- What is your budget and timetable for testing?
- What are the road blocks to instituting a test? Does
your web server have the ability to randomize traffic or do
we need to do that prior to hitting the site?
- How big are your pages and how fast do the load for
someone on 56k dial-up or broadband?
