Major enterprise systems are starting to look at - and move - critical information systems to non-Microsoft platforms like Google. Gmail’s growth as a consumer email system has been impressive, but now it takes another step by servicing a major municipality. Are large enterprise customers next? Of course they are. This is a major threat to Microsoft’s core business and one of the first shots of enterprise level cloud computing. As any good SEO’er knows, linking is incredibly important component of SEO. A great example is Real.com - a page rank 10 site - that used to not be crawled or cached because they used javascript to sniff and segment the inbound traffic - including search engine bots. Since search engine bots don’t follow javascript links, the content of the site off of the homepage was not getting crawled and cached. Go to http://www.thesuperheroquiz.com/
OK, while not technically a business based blog post, couldn’t resist this one. Someone has built a quiz that will spit out which super hero you are most like as well as other related super heros. This site does pretty good business, is wrapped with google adsense ads and probably generates $20k per year while the author sleeps. This is one of the many reasons I love the internet.
